Tuition-Based Preschool:

Tuition-based Preschool is open to families with children ages 3 to 4 years old (children must be potty trained). Our program provides activities that promote fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive development, as well as play-based activities that nurture social skills. The program is funded by parent-paid tuition, subsidized district general fund dollars, and in some cases, financial assistance from the State of Michigan for families that qualify. Limited enrollment is available. The lead teacher for this program is Ms. Leesa Curtis. This program is open on K - 12 school days from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday.

GSRP:

The Great Start to Readiness Program (GSRP) is free to families and funded by the Michigan Department of Education. The program is available to children who will be age four by September 1st of the current school year (or, if slots remain open, age four by December 1st). Eligibility for GSRP is based on family income and other family factors. GSRP runs during school hours Monday - Thursday. It begins one week after the start of elementary school and ends one week before elementary school ends, to accommodate home visits. Great Start focuses on building social and emotional skills leading to self-regulation and school-readiness in a child-centered, constructivist, play-based model. Studies are based on emerging student interests and content areas including language, literacy, math, motor skills, sciences, and the arts. The lead teacher for this program is Ms. Sarah Jane Johnson. Please call our office (231) 271-8601 for more information about this program.
